AAAAAAAAAND i have another fun craft idea for us to do together, but it has to be kept secret from jake until afterwards. it will be a little surprise...

art metals: day one

my first day of class was intense. it's going to be 7 hours per day, 4 days per week. i have to give a speech tomorrow on the baroque to revolution period. history of jewelry stuff. should be interesting, actually. my instructor has an accent, which is a definite plus :) she's a brit! i made a couple of friends. one is a girl with a russian name from appleton who used to be a psych major but ditched it for art. she smiles a lot, but in a nervous way, and doesn't wear a bra. i don't remember her name. i also made friends with a butch lesbian named Dee who does landscape architecture and has a massively awesome fanny pack with multiple compartments.
i have to have my piece all planned out by tomorrow!!!! it is going to be a brooch pin that has to symbolize my assigned era (baroque to revolution). it's going to be very complicated. bring on the challenge! not sure how much i'm going to be able to work while i'm taking this class. hmm.
is it true for sure that madam banana is coming back this thursday?!?!

i'm back in madison at my parents' house, with one dog behind me on the couch and another curled up right next to me on the floor fast asleep with his tongue hanging out (he has no teeth left, pobrecito).
my vacation had a crazy drama filled climactic ending. not in a good way. but it's over. things with cesar are nuts, but my time with mum and my time with jason (my brother) was so so nice! my brother is a little stud muffin. i'll post a few pictures later when i'm at the other computer :)
i've started studying for the GRE. it's time to get scared about that thing, especially since i don't remember any geometry, and my vocabulary sucks. so now i have to memorize 333 vocabulary word definitions and their antonyms and re-teach myself geometry and basic algebra. actually, i think it will be cool to force myself to expand my vocab. then i can sound all smart mwahahaha. everyone will be foooooooooled! *evil laugh*
tomorrow i start my summer classes. the first month will be art metals, which should be cool. 5 hours per day 4 days per week, but at least there will be no homework (except maybe for coming up with designs and stuff). then the second month will be some psych class on adolescent learning. fun stuff. looks like i'll be graduating in december instead of august, but that's a blessing because i need the time (as a student, so i can have health insurance and other benefits) to make a few decisions. hopefully i will have made them by the end of the summer.
anyways, ramble ramble ramble.
anna i miss ya and i can't wait to see you! this last bit of time has got to be rough, missing your man and all, but just remember that it is your last stretch in germany, so find all the things you enjoy about being there and appreciate them as much as you can. then the time will go faster.

i'm at my bruuuuuuuutha's house! yaaaaaaay! he's going poo right now so i can do a quick update. we just went to a vegetarian/vegan restaraunt in downtown santa cruz. fun stuff. his friends are crazy cats, let me tell you. his friend's mom loves me and she's gonna make me baklava before i go!!!!!!!!!!! yum...

in other news, jason's dog is super cute. ozzy is a husky and is very well behaved. and cute. i'll have pictures when i get back :)

we went to the beach today too, and just walked around and scoped things out and took some pictures, etc. tonight we're gonna watch a movie with some more of his friends. the movie is called freeway and has reese witherspoon and keefer sutherland. heard of it? i haven't, but apparently it got some sundance award.

anyway, i'm gonna go eat some amoretto milano cookies before they're gone.
